01 / Digital storytelling

Building an organic
advocacy platform

Making complex conversations about racism, identity, culture and inequality accessible without flattening them.

I handled the full process: research, framing, scripts, presenting, filming, editing and performance analysis. The creative approach: find the larger idea underneath the story.

The creative approach

A stereotype becomes a conversation about normalised racism. A local incident becomes a lens on how communities are perceived. Each piece frames a bigger idea in language people want to watch, share and discuss.

Consistent posting began around April–May 2025. The platform grew organically to 30,000–35,000 followers by the end of 2025 and has since grown to 37,000+.

02 / Community + creative direction

Community Curry

One simple idea: cook genuinely good food and take it directly into the community.

I founded and built Community Curry end-to-end, from the name, brand and messaging to volunteers, food production, fundraising, live music events and on-the-ground delivery in Perth.

From an idea to participation

A follower can donate. An artist can perform. A venue can offer space. A volunteer can distribute food. Someone who needs a meal can simply receive one.

By the second fundraiser, The Bird had moved from a paid venue to an in-kind supporter, offering its space free. That event raised more than $1,000, with promotion and interviews through RTRFM and ABC Perth.

Warraay Puthu

Culture, creativity and youth leadership at the heart of a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander smokefree, vapefree and anti-tobacco-industry campaign.

For the Destiny reel, I developed the concept, script, direction, filming and edit. A familiar workplace interaction and character-led humour carried the health message into the social feed.

Content that travelled further

The Destiny reel reached far beyond the campaign account’s existing audience. My wider contribution included campaign planning, collaborative co-design, creative ideation, visual direction, short-form production and participation in the campaign music video.

04 / Health promotion + education

Aboriginal sexual health
+ youth education

Health education designed around the people receiving it, across metropolitan, regional and remote Western Australia.

At the Aboriginal Health Council of WA, I worked across workshops, digital resources, short-form health content, community engagement and professional education, adapting the approach to each audience.

Adapting the way the message travels

When COVID-19 restricted travel, I helped translate health education into digital formats designed for young audiences. This contributed to “Achieving Sexual Health Promotion During a Pandemic”, presented through SiREN and at the ASHM conference in 2022.

The work also included community-specific needs assessment, approximately 10–15 regional and community visits, and professional webinars through The Birds and the BBVs.

03 / The person behind the practice

A creative mind.
A community
perspective.

Ragilen Kristnasawmy

Worth Saying Studio is my independent creative practice.

I bring together strategy, storytelling, creative direction and hands-on content production to make complex issues clear, culturally relevant and engaging.

My background spans health promotion, community engagement, advocacy and digital storytelling. That experience shapes how I approach campaigns: understand the context, find the idea and make something people can connect with.

I work best with organisations doing meaningful work across health, culture, community and social impact.

Perth-based.
Remote and national projects welcome.
